Hailing from the humble outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Megan Paullet is a force to be reckoned with. Drawing inspiration from the works of Frank Zappa, Yes, Aretha Franklin, Sara Bareilles, and Elton John, Megan’s music is a melting pot of lush, emotionally driven vocals and dynamic instrumental soundscapes with a contemporary twist.
In a recent interview, when asked how she would classify herself in terms of a particular musical genre, she replied “I hate being asked this question. If I’m being honest, I don’t like the idea of limiting myself to just one style of music when I write or perform. I feel like I’d be doing a disservice to the many vast styles of music that are out there to draw inspiration from. Besides, I don’t think I really ‘fit’ into any one genre anyway. A lot of people have told me that my music reminds them of many different things, and I think that’s pretty cool.”
